Quotes on Steve Carr

"Consistency is a quality that runs through Stephen Carr's game..." Spurs Monthly

View on Stephen Carr

Stephen is personally one of my most favorite players. As mentioned above by official club magazine Spurs Monthly, Steve Carr's game runs on consistency. Week in, week out, Stephen Carr stands out in Tottenham's performances. He is a hard working, loyal player which makes him one of my favorite. I hope we have not seen the best of Stephen, but if he continues to play like he did in season 99/00 (which won him club player of the season) then I for one, will not be complaining. His ability to get forward in attack for Spurs and immediately get back to defend is incredible. He plays like an extra winger behind Darren Anderton and is always reliable to defend well at his favored right back position. He also has the amazing ability to strike a ball as well. Goals against Brentford, Wimbledon, Manchester United and Sunderland prove that. All of them were well worked goals for Stephen and he can also whip in a decent ball to the front men as well. In my opinion, Steve Carr is one of, if not, THE best right back in the Premiership. And George Graham likes him as well.
